Welcome From COAA President

Welcome to the website of the Chinese-American Oceanic and Atmospheric Association's (COAA)!

COAA is a registered non-profit professional organization. Its missions are to facilitate professional networking among colleagues worldwide; to advance oceanic and atmospheric disciplines through scientific exchanges and collaborations; and to provide professional services and assistance to members.

COAA has grown tremendously as it enters its 12th year, now with worldwide membership of more than 300. In the past, COAA has held three International Ocean-Atmosphere Conferences that were jointly organized with other professional organizations: one in Washington D.C. in 1997, the second in Taipei in 2000, and the third in Beijing in 2004.

As a member, you will be informed of COAA activities and the latest about your colleagues via e-mails, webpages, and Newsletters (monthly), and be invited to attend COAA's workshops (twice a year) and other COAA-cosponsored conferences, and social activities (e.g., annual dinner, get-togethers). In some cases, COAA provides travel support for attending conferences/workshops. Members also receive a COAA directory updated yearly.
